George A. Chivari
George A. Chivari is President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Preferred Meals Systems, Inc. Preferred Meal Systems, Inc. provides component meal program services for public, private, and charter schools in the United States. With more than 30 years of food industry experience, Chivari is responsible for all Preferred Meal Systems operations as well as the sales and marketing functions.
Prior to joining Preferred Meal Systems, he was Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Quantum Foods LLC, one of the world’s largest and most technologically advanced providers of portion-controlled steaks and multiple proteins. He served as President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Coleman Natural Foods LLC, the leading United States processor, marketer and distributor of fresh and further prepared natural and organic proteins.
Chivari was also the President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Parmalat Bakery Group North America. He has served as a Corporate Vice President of Sara Lee Corporation and was the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Sara Lee Branded Foods Group. During his career he has held various executive positions with Sara Lee and other leading food companies including General Foods and Oscar Mayer.
Chivari earned a Bachelor of Science degree in marketing from the University of Illinois and a Masters of Business Administration from Northern Illinois University. He resides in Glen Ellyn, Illinois.
Today, Preferred Meal Systems, Inc. is based in Berkeley, Illinois and has more than 1,700 employees. The Company was formerly known as Mass Feeding Corporation and it was founded in 1967.
